I also tried going back to that really old version and all these problems disappeared completely. I'm also using a wired connection, bluetooth is completely disabled. I need this to work 100% of the time like the old version because I need it for two emulators - one doesn't support controller vibration for non-Xinput controllers, and the other needs motion server for motion controls. Note that the controller never disconnects if I don't use DS4Windows, only when using it does it have any problems. Tried 2 other controllers and 10 other USB cables. And I found two that were running but were not set to "Automatic", meaning they would have to be run manually. I went to the running services and started looking for services that had in their description something about controllers/peripherals/etc. You can also pres Windows key + R, and type "services.msc" and enter. I went to windows search and typed "Services". When I woke up it was working perfectly, so I thought maybe it had something to do with a service or something. This is the thing that actually worked for me, and I kinda discovered it after I left the controller connected (disconnecting and reconnecting) and when to sleep.Click ok and now go to the bottom of the Device Manager window and find "Universal Serial Bus Controller" Do the same you did with before with "Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller" and "USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) if applicable. In the new window, go to the last tab "Power Managament" and uncheck the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". There, first go to "Human Interface Devices" and with the controller connected, double click on "USB Input Device" (you can do it with more than one). If on Windows 10, press Windows key + X, and then "M" or just select "Device Manager".Look for "USB settings" and double click it, then double click again on "USB selective suspend setting" and select the disable option for both O battery and Plugged in. Click on "Change Plan settings", then "Change advanced power settings". There you should see the Power Plans you have.
